Kukup sits on the Straits of Malacca in the far south-west of Johor, about eighty kilometres from Singapore and an hour and a half to two hours away depending on the crossing. It is best known for its stilt village built out over the water and for seafood, and it works well as a day out rather than an overnight stay. If you are staying in the village, a return transfer is enough. If you want to move around Pontian and the coast as well, the day charter works out better and costs less than several separate legs.
