Across the Second Link to the south-west coast
Pontian is a coastal district in the south-west corner of Johor, about seventy kilometres from Singapore and comfortably reachable in under two hours. Because it sits west of JB, the Second Link at Tuas is normally the sensible crossing, and it is generally the quieter of the two. The area is known for its seafood and its stretch of coast along the Straits of Malacca, and Kukup — the stilt village built out over the water — is only a short drive further on. That proximity is why most bookings here end up covering both rather than just one.
Half a day, or a full one
Pontian is close enough to Singapore that a straight transfer sometimes makes little sense. If you are going to eat and come back, a same-day return is the obvious structure. If you want to take in Kukup, the coast and the surrounding villages as well, a day charter keeps the van and driver with you and you set the order as you go — which for an area this spread out is usually both cheaper and considerably less frustrating than arranging each leg separately. Tell us roughly what you want to see and we will tell you honestly which structure costs less.
