Five hours and 1,800 metres of climbing
Genting is the longest single climb we run. From Singapore it is roughly 390 kilometres north, and the last stretch is a steep, winding ascent into the hills that gains well over a thousand metres. That final section is the reason the vehicle matters: an underpowered car with a full load and a boot of luggage struggles on it, and passengers feel every switchback. A properly sized van with a driver who has done the road repeatedly makes the climb a non-event. We collect from any Singapore address and take you all the way up, with the same van and the same driver for the whole journey.
Planning the day around the drive
Five to five and a half hours of driving plus a checkpoint means the departure time shapes the whole trip. Leaving Singapore early gets you up the hill with the afternoon still ahead; a late start can put you on the mountain road after dark, which is slower. We will suggest a window when you send your date. It is also worth knowing that the temperature at the top is dramatically cooler than at sea level — a genuinely useful thing to pack for, and something first-time visitors regularly get wrong. Many customers book the two-day return rate rather than one-way, since it works out lower than two separate trips.
